All about the 2015 3D design summer camp

Do you have a child who is interested in technology, design and creativity? Looking for a great summer camp in Ashburn Virginia? This 3D design and printing camp is geared for youth who have a passion for learning, building and living on the cutting edge of technology.

What is included with the class: Access to 3D printer(s), filament (the material that goes into the printer) instruction, training on software, snacks, and lunch (like pizza and sandwiches). Please let me know if your child has any food restrictions/allergies. Also feel free to bring your own snacks/lunch.

Requirements: Each student needs their own machine on which to do their designs. The best would be a laptop WITH MOUSE. A mac or PC will be much better than a Chromebook. If the students don't have laptops, then an iPad would be acceptable. Worst case scenario, a student could get by with an Android tablet, but this would be discouraged. But the best experience would absolutely be with a mouse and laptop.

The cost of the camp is to cover the 3D printing materials, lunches, snacks, and possibly an additional printer rental (depending on number of students), and my time, since I'll be taking off work to run the camp

Software:The software we will be using is all free. Sketchup, Meshmixer, Makerbot Desktop, TinkerCAD, and possible 123D Design as well.

I plan on limiting enrollment to 8, since space will tight inside our home, and there will be a lot of attention required for each student.

How to register: Use the register/contact form on the side of the page
Dates: July 8th, 9th, and 10th 2015 from 9am - 4pm. (if you are interested in the camp, but can't do these days, please let me know)
Location: My house in Ashburn, close to Stone Hill Middle School
Cost: $195
Age: 10+

Pics of some of my prints

Here are some of the prints I've done recently on my printer which is a Flash Forge Creator Pro. As you can see, there is a variety of filaments and types of things you can do. Some of the below prints were things I designed and some came from other people's designs.

One of the coolest filaments is the bright green one. That is something called Ninjaflex and is a strong but flexible filament. It is a lot of fun to work with!
